First Podcast

So here it is, folks. It’s the first in a series I plan on doing as a kind of semi-introduction to digital art for those who might be interested in learning more about the process behind this style/method of artwork. Links to sites and programs mentioned will always be located below…
And, in a personal note, [...]

Oscar in the Spotlight!

Did I tell ya, or did I tell ya?
Last time I posted I did a little step-by-step about how our newest character, Oscar the cotton candy, was completed. At the time, Oscar was but a co-star in a set of three little notepads I had just created.
But, as promised, it’s time for my Oscar step [...]

Our New Website!

As you might remember from my last post about New Year’s Resolutions, one of my goals this year was to launch our very own dot-com. I’m happy to report that Paper Cuts Studio now has just that!
Please hop on by our brand-spankin’-new website and check it out!
As you can see, I’ve modified the blog’s theme [...]

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Lately, I’m really getting into uber-cute, Japanese-style drawings. There’s something about those big-eyed, adorable Kawaii pictures that just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. After spending so many years pretending to be too cool for this stuff, I am no longer embarassed to admit that I adore all things cute and cuddly.
Awesome Etsy [...]

My New Pet Rat

Our very first journal featuring one of our digital creations! Of course, linocuts will always be dear to me, but sometimes nothing hits the spot like a cute pink rat:
He’s a cute little fella–and so much less upkeep than a real rat!
If you’d like to give Ferdinand a good home, buy him here at my [...]

Where the magic happens…

The snoop in me always loves to check out other people’s workspaces. In case you’re interested, I thought I’d share mine.
So here it is, in its natural state. This is where I do most of my sketching, tracing, and cutting. Occasionally when I’m feeling more social, I’ll bring my in-progress linocuts over to the coffee [...]

Here’s to You, Mrs. Bancroft

So, I’m graduating college in a few weeks. A very good thing, but also a very weird thing. I think I really do “get” what Dustin Hoffman was going through during “The Graduate”–that sort of odd, don’t-know-what-to-do, kind of antsy, sort of confused feeling. The whole thing got me thinking about the movie, which inspired [...]

Bad blogger!

I’ve been really neglecting my poor blog! It must feel very ignored.
The truth is, this is my last two weeks or so of classes and there is sooo much to do. Meanwhile, I’m trying to keep up with my artwork AND try and remain interested in school.
More posts to come, I promise!
