New series?
So I just put up a new print of an octopus that I originally created based on a tutorial by Spoon Graphics. I jazzified things a little with a half-tone filter and some texture to get the final product. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. I’m really grateful that I found that tutorial because learning a few new things and checking out a different workflow was definitely a way to get a little new inspiration.

I wanted to do something else in a similar style and, for some reason, I really wanted to do something else with tentacles. I guess I just love them cephalopods. So after a few days I finished this little guy. He’s a giant squid named Richard and he’s (possibly) a part of a series that I may or may not be in the middle of. I do like working within series… something about creating several pieces around a unified theme is very enjoyable to me.
Next I plan to draw a box jellyfish. After that, I’m not sure. I seem to be running out of tentacled animals, but there are many interesting animals under the sea. So who knows?
