Does this look like a raccoon to you?

I sure hope every digital artist isn’t as weirded-out as I am during the initial sketching process.

Chalk this up to a few things… First, being such a serious little egg-head in school that nobody ever thought I was interested in being artistic. Second, spending several of my teen years being good friends with a classically trained artist who was critical to the point of out-right nastiness. Ahh, high school–whoever said that those years are the best ones of your life must have been saying it ironically.

I have to say that it still really kind of surprises me when I sketch something and it looks half-way decent–cute, even. Perhaps it’s because this little fellow seems to be doing the hand jive.
